On mine it has to get pretty dark before they come on, it's kinda annoying.

Where is the sensor? You don't have a ball cap laying on it or something, do you?

I believe the sensor is located on the dash towards the windshield. I guess that's what that little dome is anyway.
My '02 seems to work ok.

If that is the sensor on the dash then nothing is on it. It's still under warranty so I guess, I will let them look at it. As much as I dislike letting the dealer touch it.
That's why I used to lease and just switch trucks every year.
Thanks

I drive through some shaded areas on the way to work, my problem is the lights constantly go on and off.

Michael13- My sensor has a smoke colored dome over it. If yours doesn't then that may be your problem. It's a pretty small dome- about half an inch in diameter.

Yes i see it up on the dash. It must be defective. I can cover it or light it up with the floodlight and the auto headlights still do not respond.
Thanks

You may have to cover it for a couple of minutes before it reacts.

I never use auto on headlights. They are a pain I can do without.

The windshield refective cover I use must have built up heat between the glass and shield, then melted/fused together the sensor. I replaced it and the sensor is working.
