hi guys
im looking for the link to the latest Sync 3 update id like to be able download it to a usb stick then to my '17 lariat
I remember a post about it can't find it now. Thanks for your help JP
urwelkum ... Make sure you follow ALL the instructions when you load it. It's not just a simple plug-n-play. I've got mine on a thumb-drive, but haven't loaded it yet myself. Wrote the instructions to carry with me when I do get a chance at an hour-plus drive.
That's the latest Ford "official" release. There is a V3 3.0 as well which is more updated but technically a BETA. It only takes about 15 minutes to install. The truck will take a few minutes to recognize the update on the USB stick so call it 20 minutes total.
Don't do it. Unless you want your head unit to start up at random places other then where it was when you turned the truck off. For example, you're listening to satellite radio when you turn the truck off. When you start the truck again the head unit will be on a random AM or FM setting.
It's well known & documented that this update sucks. Ford has known about it for quite some time and seems indifferent about it. Nothing has been done to address problems that the last update has created.
it takes 3 hours via wifi and 20 min with usb stick
x2,
WiFi was a nightmare for me. I would get through half the download than it would drop the connection and that's with the router sitting in the room above the garage. USB is slick way to go.
