120k Dealer service

I wanted to run this by everyone. Russell and Smith Ford wants
$778.95 to do the following 120k service:

I marked out what I do myself. I told the advisor that I maintain the primary cooling system but needed the secondary system flushed.

He came up with $409.55. Is that a good price?

Figure you got $200 in fluids, so you are paying half labor and half material. Expensive for my taste but probably not a terrible deal.

Personally, I would do the coolant system myself and replace with a CAT-1 coolant topped off with distilled water.

If you do the cooling system ...replace both caps (fuel cooler and degas bottle). Your going to have to check the fluid level frequently and add coolant before taking it on a long ride...lots of air gets trapped in that system and it’s hard to get out.

what about the gearboxes and differential and power steering fluid.

if it were me, I’d change everything.

I would agree with Fritz. Change everything. It's cheap insurance. I would go synthetic where you can too. Trandfercase, tranny, etc.

Right on. Thanks guys.

I've had the degas bottle cap done for a while now. Didn't know about the fuel cooler cap. Are there instructions on how to drain the secondary coolant system? Is is much smaller than the main?
