2017 Cover instructions.

I bought a 2017 with a Ford
Part No: V9L3Z-99501A42-HA Folding cover I have no instructions for it and can't figure out how to open it or fold it. Does any have instructions they can post??

I assume you are referring to the hard cover. If so, drop the tailgate and look inside. On the panel nearest the tailgate, near the bed rails you should see a black handle hanging down on each side. Grab the handle, pull down and slide it away from the bed rail. That will release the latch. Then fold the handle up into the recess on the underside of the panel. Now grab the panel and fold it forward. Then fold the second panel forward. Use the two straps and buckles to secure the cover if you plan on driving with it open. To close just reverse the process.


The Ford cover is really just a re-branded cover from Extang. You can go to their web site for more info and repair parts if needed.

With that info, I found out the dealer gave me the wrong Part number. It looks like a VGL3Z-84501A42-AA It's a soft vinyl cover with ribs. There are handles inside that look similar to what you described. Bought the truck used, it was custom built. I think the previous owner died.
