I have joined this site specifically to have a question answered for a bet that I have with a friend of mine. FROM SOMEONE WHO REALLY KNOWS--were wooden blocks used to separate Ford truck bodies from the frames on vehicles dating from the 80's on back?
Nope... atleast not on the 83 Truck we had.
And might help next time if you make the post name a Real name, instead of numbers, and put it in the appropriate forum
I don't know about older trucks, but I can tell you that the companies that supply bodies to our cab & chassis models STILL use wooden blocks! Take a look under what I call a "hi-cube" van (the smaller moving vans rented by Ryder, etc... with the Econoline front end). You'll see wooden blocks between the top of the truck's frame and the bottom of the body.
