Question exhaust dump in front of axle?

building a '52 F3 rat rod truck...

it will have a custom flat-bed on it. right now i've got the exhaust just dumping down in front of the rear axle, on either side of the pumpkin (dual exhaust from a 351). i'd rather not have to go up & over axle tubes.

any reason not to do this? plenty of air flow since the sides of the platform will be open. i get it if it had a regular bed on it and maybe fumes could be trapped and travel go back to cab.

thanks in advance.

That will be ok, but I would rather it go out the side.

Make sure you aren't going to cook your rear axle--one of the hazards of that setup.

Put turn-down tips on it...you'll be fine.
