I'm on the hunt for a 450/550, but one that is well used. I've noticed that in a dump truck set up you see them built two different ways.
1.) The axle is located under the middle of the dump body
2.) The axle is located under the rear of the dump body
I've heard a few things such as with #1 you get the payload placed more on the rear end vs the front. Not sure if this is an advantage or not.
I've also heard that with a #2 you get better towing because you would get less drop of the rear of the truck.
If I can find a truck it will be used in a landscape business and would be towing an enclosed trailer too. If I decide to pursue a CDL it would tow my dump trailer too. But I have my current truck to do that if need be.
Examples of what I'm talking about that I found on CL. Not saying these trucks are what I want, just showing the wheelbases.
Long bed Ford pickupse are 56" cab to axle. The chassis cabs are 60" or 84" mine is the 60" and my flatbed is 9'4" if it was the 84" it would have an 11'4" flatbed.
If you look in the pictures you posted the axle back is about the same. The second picture has a dump bed that is 24" longer than the first. It is not just the axle placement but the whole truck is 2' longer and so is the bed (assuming the bed is sized correctly for the frame length).

sorry forgot about that. Numbers I posted were for crewcab or extended cab. Single also has 108" and 120" cab to axle.
Longer truck will ride nicer in theory but will be less maneuverable all things being equal other than length. Longer bed will place more weight on the front end when the dump body is full than a shorter one.
