Craigslist Bronco scam
This is my first post here, and some may question my motivation for posting this. Please feel free to voice your concerns.
In my search for a nice older truck, I ran across this too-good-to-be-true Bronco on craigslist: https://kansascity.craigslist.org/ct...370174981.html
Of course its a SCAM, and the "seller" will ultimately try to get you to put some money someplace "safe" in order to process the sale. Remember one thing: There is no Bronco.
I find these frauds particularly irritating, but one person can do little to dissuade them from their attempts to steal from unsuspecting individuals.
Perhaps as a larger community we could keep a few of these scammers busy answering questions, creating false documentation, answering emails, texts, etc.
Obviously, the ad will be taken down as soon as the fake seller catches on, so don't let on that you know its a scam.

The supposed seller advertises something at a great price. Some of the items mentioned on the linked MapleMoney site include ATVs, golf carts, and various types of cars and trucks.
Often the perpetrator has some sort of hard-luck story intended to draw you in. Several commentors at the linked MapleMoney site indicate the supposed seller uses military deployment,
or disability, as the reason the are offering to sell so cheaply, or can't complete the sale face-to-face.
They then direct you to make payment "safely" via a fake Amazon Payments website. Or in some cases they ask to be paid using a gift card, then ask for a picture of the gift card with the passcode showing as proof of payment.
In either case, they get your money! Please don't fall for these scams...and when you run across one of these scammers, give them the run-around. Wasting their time keeps others from being scammed.
For the record, I did look into reporting the craigslist scammer, but filing a report requires more information about the scammer than one can usually garner, and often requires proof of damages.
Police don't have the resources to look into all these scams, and sites like craigslist and Amazon do little or nothing to dissuade predatory behavior.

It may just be part of his scam to jack the price up, but i am hoping it is you folks messing with him, and not some legitimate buyers.
My thanks goes out to anyone taking the time to mess with this fraud! Keep up the good work!
