Never ending fixes

Just wanted to vent a bit. I am working on getting my 97 crewcab back in the road after totaling it a few years ago. The time it has sat seems to have caught up with it. After I got the crash damage fixed, it seems like a find one thing after the other that needs replaced. First my column shifter broke in half. Then my right front brake caliper was hanging up. Then i found the right side tierod end was bad. Since I was in there and I already had the ball joints and ujoints i figured I would replace those. Found a loose ujoint cap in the inner axle, so had to replace that. Finally got it all back together today and now my pedal goes to the floor. Looks like its time for a new master cylinder now. I also have been scared to try the e brake for fear of the cables sticking, but I am going to have to test it before I get it inspected. I am sure that will turn into another project as well. This truck never gave us problems over the 220,000 miles that it has been driven. Just goes to show how bad letting something just sit is for it.

I feel your pain brother. But you can do it... It was in need of repair before you just did not know it yet.. I have thousands on repairs and have almost made it 4000 miles between repairs. that was huge as i could not go 30 min between repairs. I have yet another problem with mine and it is nuts but its getting better.

Keep in mind the old truck is twenty years old, show it some love. I sold mine (in sig) with 330k, solid as hell and I miss it dearly. The kid that bought it LOVES it and I regret loosing it. My new truck is awesome, but now I have payments, and when the warranty expires I wouldn't know where to begin when it needs repairs. My old '97 was mine for 18 years, and I could fix it blind folded.

Oh yeah, that's an issue LOL! Been there with this before. Also check your injector pigtails while you are under there. I have found mine completely unplugged.

Its all back together and running smoothly, so far. Probably gonna run it a bit and make sure there is nothing else wrong before I get it in for an inspection. My dad wants to take it out to Iowa on his hunting trip in January, definitely need to put some local miles on it before that.
