Carb to intake manifold

Bought an intake manifold and a feedback type yfa carburator( that I don't want and I am sending back) for my 88 4.9 f-150 efi to carb conversion.
My head is spinning from all the b.s. I got from the online uneedapart guy. The shipping papers said all 3 items came from a 79 e-100 Ford van. (I also got an air cleaner for the carburator) That turned out to be a lie because the feedback carb wasn't used in 79.
Next it turns out that that the bolts on the intake manifold are too narrow a 1/16" to an 1/8" on each side.
What my question is is why? It's cast on the side of the manifold - 153624 - so why won't the carburator fit on the manifold?
