77 F150 will not start

So I just bought a 77 F150 with the 400ci motor. I replaced the entire fuel system and it ran fine. Yesterday i dropped the tank to replace the float. Now it wil not start and the carburetor is not getting any fuel. I am getting fuel all the way up to the carburetor but not into it. Any help anyone can offer is greatly appreciated.

Filter or needle valve

First, make sure it's fuel delivery by priming the carb with gasoline sparingly enough not to flood the engine. If it's starting and running briefly after priming, you're on the right track: the fuel circuit is the culprit, not the electrical system.

I'm assuming you're getting fuel out the end of the fuel line when you disconnect it at the carb. If you are getting sufficient fuel delivery there, take look at a clogged filter at the carb or at the needle valve. If you have an empty or nearly empty float bowl, you've got blocked flow. Clear the blockage and you should be good to go.

It will start if I pour gas into the carburetor. But I just had the carburetor rebuilt.

Was your pick-up tube really rusty? If so, working on it might've caused a leak above fuel level, where it sucks air. I would definitely do a fuel delivery test. Simply pull the line at the carb, and slip a tall bottle over it to capture the fuel, and crank the starter. Even better, connect a hose to the fuel line and route it away from the truck. There are specs surely available on the internet which state how much fuel you should be getting per time cranking.

I just two days ago spliced a universal radiator hose into the rusted out fuel filler tube on my Corolla...

If your pump is shooting fuel like it should, then it sounds like your needle valve is stuck closed at the carb inlet, not allowing fuel to get in. Maybe the float hung up in the up position? The clip which hangs the needle from the float tang might've come off?

Are you pouring the gas into the vent tubes, and hence filling the bowl? Or are you pouring it into the throat?

Is it a Ford Autolite or Motorcraft carb? You can open up the carb and check it, or capture and post some pics. Carbs aren't as bad of a black science as one might think.
I would go ahead and remove it from the engine for this, and bring it to a clean work space.

Works but dies

So I tried what y'all said and got it running. I got about 10 miles down the road when it died. I had it towed back home, it is getting fuel and the carburetor is working but with not start now. electrical issues??

Try to get it to act up again, and then check for spark when it happens. If the fuel system is all working fine, then it sounds like it could be the ignition control box, or possibly the pickup inside the distributor. Could be the coil too. You want to replace it with Motorcraft parts when you find the culprit. Was just reading here last night about someone got a pick-up from the McParts store, and it ran worse than the one which was intermittently failing.
