I found a thread through google, on a different Ford forum, so I won't link it, but there are steps to replace the oil filter adapter plate gasket on a 2003 Expedition. I'm not too sure on all the small changes from model to model, and have read the Trucks are a lot more labor intensive than the SUVs, but are the Navigators and Expys the same that year as for as engine sitting in the frame and being able to get to this part? I'm trying to find a good write up and would rather ask a stupid question here, than get into it only to realize it's going to take me 6-8 hours (versus the 1.5 this thread claims).
