I seem to recall that the city of Phoenix made it legal to discharge a snake-shot loaded firearm within the city limits earlier this year...
I've got people patting me on the back for killing it and others telling me I should have taken him out to the desert and let him go...

Snakes don't want trouble, and really are only defensive. Probably cause people are always killing them. Leave them be, they leave you be. Also, 90% of snake bites occur while people are trying to kill them. Also, some western diamondbacks are protected in AZ, so might not advertise it. If they aren't a protected version, you still need a license.
