Hello everyone , My name is Ron and I'm new here, I own a 2011 F150 XTR 5.0L . I replaced my battery with a newer and stronger one , higher CCA and now I have the Battery light on all the time on my truck, I bought the ELM bluethoot adapter and downloaded the forscan tool and followed all the instructions to reset it and still the light stays On.
Is there anything I can do to turn it off ? Or should I buy one with the same CCA ?
The manuals make mention of a "silver calcium" battery, and that the "correct battery type must be used" in order to prevent issues with the charging system. However, I'm currently trying to find out about this and there isn't any info. out there. My dealership is clueless, and none of the batteries listed at auto parts stores are shown as silver calcium. I'm not the wizard of battery technology so I don't know if a regular AGM or lead acid battery will cause issues on our trucks or not.
Try letting your truck sit for over 8 hours, doors locked, no activity whatsoever. The BMS is supposed to reset itself under those conditions.
