Hey folks I have a beefy cam in my 347 stroker so I only get 16 in of vacuum. I just re did my mc, brake booster, rubber, hard lines pads re did drums and rotors. However I feel my brakes are still spongy even with NO leaks etc.
My question is can I get something to amplify the vacuum I have to like 25 in so there will be plenty of vacuum to go around?
QUOTE=axelgawn;17558260]I have been reading that pumps are really loud. Do you currently run one?[/QUOTE]
No need on my truck. I did spend a little time researching them a while back but after reconfiguring the PCV system decided it wasn't needed. From the research I did, the diaphragm pumps are louder than the rotary vane pumps. I assume the rotary vane pumps would probably last longer as well. some of the kits I looked at had the wiring, a pressure swtch, as well as a canister and some hose. There are some that are designed to add vacuum to the brake booster when running a radical cam. This sounds like just what you might need.
Mark.
