Angry I hate shorts

Does anyone know of any recurrent problems in the f-150s blowing the instrument cluster fuse. my 97 blows the fuse about every other day. I'm fairly sure it is the power wire grounding out but I'm really not looking foward to pulling the dash apart to find it. maybe someone knows where I should start

If you are referring to 5A fuse 29 see if it shorts out when moving the shifter. The F150 has a problem with the wiring to the transmission control switch (the button on the shift lever) shorting out from worn condition at the shift lever. You can easily inspect this by removing the columb shroud and looking over the wiring from the connector to the shifter lever. If it is not in a repairable spot you can purchase the shift lever and transfer the switch over to the new lever. I think they run about 45.00. Lever is held in with a pin you can easily punch out.

you the man I was just going to post that it seems to blow when I move the shifter. I figured that it had to be somewhere in the dash area but this will really narrow it down. I hope Thanks again
