The spring (if that's what it's called) with detents in it is broken and the wind always pushes it into the door. The mirror is useless. Can this part be gotten and swapped in? That's the top of the mirror BTW.

There is no spring with genuine Ford Western Junior 'swing-lock' mirrors (that have 3 embossed lines on the mirror head).
The metal washer that has the detents to hold the mirror in position.
"IF" it is not actual springs steel, then it could me made from some 16ga steel and replicated in some manor. The factory piece is likely stainless, thus it won't rust.
And, "IF" it is not spring steel, removing it, having someone put a touch of weld on it(TIG it), would fix it also. Might distort, take some finesse to straight it, but doable in a pinch.
There are many styles of springs. They aren't just coiled compression or extension types.
Some types of springs are; Compression Spring, Extension Spring, Torsion Spring, Constant Force Spring, Belleville Spring (aka Belleville Washer --like you would find inside the '57-'68 Ford Equa-Lok differential that pushes on the clutch pack) and there are Spring Clips --and don't forget leaf springs like you'd find on many older model Fords.
The mirror spring being mentioned is disc-shaped but, it's made from spring steel. If it was just a plain disc-shaped piece of metal, it wouldn't retain its shape or tensioning ability for long to keep the mirror locked into position.
Every item in the following photo is a spring. Each performs a specialized function.
Just a thought, but why couldn't you put it in a vise, and with a pair of vice grips slowly massage it little bit. If you break it, no biggie as you would have had to replace it anyway.
