I have been thinking of where to put my gas tank ? First thing is it can not go in the stock location I have a Fatman custom chassis with a narrowed rear so the chassis does not allow me to go back to stock, and the space between the rear chassis is small, So has anyone installed the tank in the stock Pickup location under the driver seat in a panel truck.

I used Direct Sheet metal.,"http://www.directsheetmetal.com/" , I had purchased the 4' setback {Big Block} firewall many years ago from them and When I called them they set me up with the proper toe kicks,
they now sell the complete floor and toe kick setup and firewall.
I'm very happy i went this route seeing i have a big block 460 for the truck and all my measurements was cutting it to close with factory firewall.

Some days it seams like you cant make much progress but I guess its baby steps, I spent all day working on the rear door lower hinge mounting plate in the pictures you can the lower corner is all rotted away and the plate
that the hinge bolts to was so rusted 3 of the four bolts broke. But luckily with all the rust the plate was easily removed . I went on to making a new plate drilling and tapping 4 holes and without a metal brake the next piece of metalI need to make takes longer to bend anything but spent all day prepping and bending a small piece of metal that will be the bottom of the hinge support brace. Also with the nice clear weather we are having here at the jersey shore I was able to spend time moving my tube chassis out to the driveway from the back yard. I also was able last week to spend more time on the shaved drip rails and filling the upper seams on the side panels.

So on this Sunday morning here at the jersey shore, My good friend that has been helping me with the body work is still struggling to get back to good health about 5 weeks after getting the flu he's still not
back to work and sounds like the flu has screwed with his recovery from the form of leukemia he was in remission from. But he showed me so much in the last year and helped me gain some confidence
with my body and welding work {not as good as him} but enough to continue the build. more photos to follow , I had to extend the Fatman chassis I believe it was built for the Pick up not Panel body it
was 3 inched short in the rear. And the next is try to finish the shaved drip rails over the rear doors.
