Remote Start
I am thinking about installing a remote start system in my 02 X. Just wondering if anyone has done this and how tough it is to do it. Also, does anyone have the wiring diagram I would need for this? Or do you know where I can find one? Thanks.....

SpareTime, you can probably have that installed at your local Ford dealership. A guy at my church has a 2000 or 2001 F-350 SRW and he had one put in. It works great, I thought about getting one put in myself but, I chose not to. Check around and see if you can find a good deal on a remote start system. Other than that, I can't tell you much else. I wish I could be of more help.

$450 to $475 installed for the Ford gold at my dealer here in Tex Us....
I chose that route because I wanted the warranty and NO issues about 'this caused that'
Some like the Viper... it probably has more features... but I've heard the install is a bear - I know I wouldn't want to tackle it... and I only have three years of ChemE and a minor in Computer Science...

I already have a remote start system sitting in my garage that I bought a few years back that I was going to put on my last car - as you can tell, I never got around to it. And with winter approaching, the thought has popped back into my head to put it on the X. So, I'm still looking for any hints and tips on doind an install. Thanks.

I had my remote start installed by:
Bernie's Auto Care Service Center Inc
5802 37th Avenue, Woodside, NY 11377
(718) 651-6686
All the local FORD dealers go there, they are Ford factory authorized installers.
Factory radios, alarms, DVD's, if it's Ford the got it.
My remote start cost me $225.00 installed.
If you need a wiring diagram call and ask for Kregg,
he will fax it to you.
Tell him Jeff from Dynamic sent you.
