I am not familiar with these, is there a way to find out if my truck is affected? Also, does Ford typically reach out to original owners with recall info or is it something that's our own responsibility to monitor and act upon? Thank you!

I believe the NHSTA requires owners to be notified by the manufacturer for any safety recall. I get them via USPS.
go to ford.owner.com and register-then you can pull up your recall status on the
'service and maintenance' screen: under the 'maintain your vehicle' you will see 'recalls'
