I switched from an 07.5 Dodge 3500 w/cummins to a 17 F-250 Platinum. It has adaptive steering. I really cannot tell that much of a difference driving around, either towing or around town. The only time i REALLY notice it is when i back into a parking space in a parking lot. It turns so much sharper. I figured it was because the dodge was a long bed and this is the standard bed. I guess I don't notice it much, which either means it works great, or not at all.. hahaha. I find myself not spinning the wheel navigating through parking lots.. which is nice. Anyway, you won't be disappointed. I have about 4,300 miles on mine, 1k of that is towing. Hope this helps.
Makes backing up the trailers MUCH simpler.. Less spinning the wheel. There was a comment on one of the threads by someone who had it, and never really noticed it. They then had a loaner truck without it while theirs was in for service.. and they definitely noticed the LACK of adaptive steer.
I've got to say, it is so well executed, you don't really "notice" it changing the ratio.. It just works like you think it should.
