Hello everyone! I just replaced spark plug 2 in my 05 Expedition last weekend and last night the ✔ Engine Light came on again and i have codes....
P0345:camshaft position sensor A (bank 2)
This one showed up twice
PO022:intake camshaft position timing-over retarded (bank 2)
i do plan on replacing all 8 plugs and COP's and boots in a week or 2 when i have the funds. What is most likely the problem? My voltage gauge doesnt do anything strange, nor does anything else electrical, so i think alternator isnt the problem maybe? I expected to see another plug code honestly because it would rattle/shake like it did when i recieved plug code last week.
If the codes are telling you there's a problem with the camshaft position sensor A bank 2, and over retarded intake cam timing (this one is probably a result of the problem with the sensor), why do you think this has anything to do with the alternator?
Most likely, you've knicked or pulled the wire to the camshaft sensor on bank 2 when you replaced the spark plug, check and verify that the sensor is properly connected. If it is, then you can try to swap the cam sensors, bank 2 > bank 1, and bank 1 > bank 2 and see if the problem follows the sensor or not. If it does, you have a bad sensor. If it doesn't, then there's a problem with the connector or wiring to the sensor.

The "most likely solution" that came up with the codes was to replace alternator, thats where that came from. I didnt think it was that. And thanks! I will try those tomorrow!
If you suspect alternator, just measure the idle voltage and engine off voltage at the battery, if it charges well I doubt there's any more reason to suspect alternator. The "most likely" solutions OBD apps suggest are more often than not a shot in the dark, unfortunately.
I wouldn't look at the alternator unless there were other symptoms or codes pointing at the alternator. If the voltage is too low, it can certainly cause a lot of weird issues which includes a VCT system which is out of whack. A noisy alternator could also cause this, but it wouldn't affect just one thing, it would affect many things, even induce noise through the stereo.
