97 airbag control module.

Hi. I have to replace my air bag control module in my 97 f150. Does anybody know if i can fit a used unit from another vehicle that had not deployed the airbags without getting it reset? My unit is water damaged from an underdash leak. If i buy a new unit from ford would it be an out of the box fit or will it need programming. I'm in australia and there isn't a lot of these around so parts and knowledge aren't that easy to get.

As long as the part numbers are an exact match you do not need to reprogram it. Starting in 2000 though, I believe reprogramming is mandatory.

Check eBay for a used one.
