cross-posting a thread-

hi all- for lack of knowing where would be the right forum to post it, I put it in the general/projects forum on a potential engine swap in my 2003 F350 I'm contemplating....any thoughts or ideas welcome there!

Well first, cross-posting gets confusing to follow; two streams of consciousness not connected by reality.

Setting that aside, from what engine to what engine? What are your goals for the swap? Do you have a donor vehicle or thinking crate engine or salvage yard?

Build from scratch, repair, or turnkey?

Give us more to work with? And please edit your subject line; my response to it is that cross-posting is generally not a good idea. It's best to pick one section and ask the mods to move it if that might get a better response elsewhere; members will often suggest a section to move a thread too and I think this is a good section for your question.

well, almost every question you ask is in the original post, and actually first thing I said in that post was asking the mods to move it as they saw fit....

without trying to sound snarky in any way- that's why I specifically posted where on the forum (both section and sub-forum) the post was- go and read the post and you'll have a better understanding why I cross-posted, it could, in theory, be appropriate in any one of 3 or 4 sub-forums

Thanks for the link to the thread with the details. That might actually drive useful responses.

I'll head over to it now and see if I can be of help.

ETA: Apologies if I sounded negative. Really am trying to be helpful, still working on my social skills.

no worries on the social skills- it's REALLY hard to convey any of the useful verbal cues typical in communication (like body language and facial expression) via a type-only forum......besides, when I first got into machining, I worked for an old-school German immigrant toolmaker, and one of the first lessons he taught me was 'feelings aren't on the required tool list', and shortly followed by 'the first callouses you need to grow are on the feeling you *do* bring to work'

and thanks for the input on the main thread, too!
