Doors Locked with key outside of truck clarification

Question is, can the truck be running with doors locked while I am outside the truck with key in my pocket? When I get out I hear the double honk and I manually lock the doors with key fob. I'm 100% sure that this works BUT I have someone on a facebook group that is telling me that it is impossible to have doors locked while engine is running and key is not in truck??? Am I going nuts here because it seems to work for me???

I think it can be done with the second fob left in the truck.

With the secure idle turned on, you can lock with engine running.

I don't keep an additional FOB in truck, UNLESS the dealership gave me a third key and left it in the truck somewhere???

Do you do it the same way? Get out of truck while it is running and then manually lock with key fob after you hear the double honks?

The key pad always works regardless of the state of the truck.

[SIZE="4"]Go to settings-- advanced setting-- and clear auto off[ box check. Truck will then idle until you return regardless of how long. If you do not clear the checked box truck will run on timer and the shut off after I believe 30-40 minutes.

Secure idle has nothing to do with the door locks. It keeps the transmission from being taken out of park if they key fob is not present in the cab.

You can lock your doors with the engine running with the key fob or using the keypad on the door.

WITH pushbutton start, you can absolutely lock the truck with it running. There is some thought put into the programming, and you must meet the condition to be able to unlock it from outside the vehicle. Start the vehicle and leave it running. You can't push the lock button inside and shut the door, because you haven't proven to the truck that you can unlock it. If you shut the door with proof you can unlock it again (either the keypad bottom two buttons if equipped, or a key fob in your hand), the truck will lock.
Again, this is keyless entry/pushbutton start criteria.

Yep, correct! I've yet to do it, but will be turning on Secure Idle, as well as disabling the double honk...super annoying!

I don't mind the double-honk, but I did enable Secure Idle on my '17 F350 Platinum CCSB.
