I had a set of them, pure rubbish. I will NEVER buy a remand set of injectors again. I did get credit and paid some to boot for a set of NEW Alliant 160/0s. No more problems since. I also know for a fact, I'm not the only one.
If you would like to know more, pm me?
Why not write it for everyone to hear it?
I have heard many on here having great results with Rosewood Diesel Shop and Jim stands by his work.
Maybe you had an issue but doesn't mean all reman are bad.
I have checked torque on them all. I even pulled two injectors that looked higher that the others, only to find out they were seated just fine and looked as fresh as the day I put them in.
I've been going through all the diagnostics provided by Swamps but honestly the communication from them has not been super helpful or fast. The feeling I'm getting is that the problem is with my rig or my install, where that hasn't been the case so far.
I'm going to do some more diagnostics next week when I get a scanner.
Do the injectors need to be removed to check armature clearance? My exhaust is smoky and burns my eyes and nose. I have replaced uvch, glow plugs, and relay. I would like to pull the valve covers to check the injectors. Starting with armature clearance followed by removing the injectors for orings. If all else fails I will send them in.
Sorry for the hijack just hoping to add useful information that may be similar to your problem.
Well I got a blue tooth scanner but only got car gauge pro to sync once. Torque app works. Any of you gotten a bt adapter for cat and buzz tests to work on a 1996?

auto or manual? I had the same issue, and still do. Didn't matter if they were stock, 160s or 230s, new glow plugs, stancore relay, VCG and UVCH, every time the injectors were swapped. The truck has always smoked like a freight train. It will start in -20 without a hitch, but it will literally white out an entire alley way, and will only clear up by accelerating through the gears once. Idle somewhat helps but not much. I attribute it to a straight through exhaust, no butterfly, cat or muffler, bigger fuel, and I swear the manuals just smoke more but that my tin hat. Good luck, I gave up s long time ago after a lot of money!
Some updates... Replaced o rings on all injectors. Old ones looked fine. No difference in smoke. Cylinder 5 definitely misses when cold. New glow plug on that hole. All ohmed out good but #5 gp was brown and bubbling around threads when running. New valve cover harnesses soldered in. Also changed to rotella t6 5w-40 and ar1900 friction modifier. Still smokes but goes away a lot faster before engine warms up. I think if I had an ebpv and cat smoke may not be lessened more.
Oh and a heads up- some jackhole returned a gallon of t6 with used oil in it. Was not fun to discover 10pm on a Friday. It looked as clean and new as the others.
