78 F150 brake problem

It all started when my buddy drove a couple of miles with my e brake on. After that my front right caliper piston cracked in half and the back did nothing to slow me down. I have since then replaced both rear wheel cylinders, shoes and all springs and hardware and on the front I replaced both calipers, shoes, and lines. I also replaced the master cylinder. Now when we try to bleed them while starting at the right rear we have pressure and all fluid comes out then out off the blue air comes out and sometimes nothing. The pedal don't even get hard. does this sound like a booster problem or maybe a line on the rear? Also I am about to lift the suspension 6 inches and I was wondering what kinda brake line I would need to accomidate for the lift. Thanks

If you are all of a sudden getting nothing that could be a sticky valve in the master cylinder. Are your rear brakes adjusted properly, cuz if not that could cause the master to travel further than it is supposed to and stick a valve. Did you bench bleed the master? I will try to watch this thread and help you as much as I can.

Are the calipers on the correct side? The bleeder screw needs to be at the top of the caliper........I had a brain fart earlier this year and did that on my 98.

i'd double check the bench bleed on the master. also it sometimes helped me to open the valve have buddy put it to the floor the close n have him let up, trying this a few times to get the stuff moving. once u get it moving in all wheels then you can get all the air out going around the truck a few times. i am gussing there is still just too much air to pump it up , i am not sure how the proportioning valve plays into this, doubt it does but it is there for anyone to have an opinion on

I can bleed it and bleed it again and the air doesn't go away. How exactly is bench bleeding done? I've never done it.

Put the M/C in the vise.

Attach the plastic couplers that come with the M/C to the M/C and then the two clear plastic tubes.

Get a container that you can see through & put about 1 1/2" of brake fluid in it.
Now put the tubes into the container

Now put a lot of Brake Fluid in the master cylinder

Now use a 12" 3/8" extension and very smoothly >push the slave cylinder in ....let it out ....push it in ......let it out to simulate putting the brakes on untill there aren't any more bubbles going into the container.
Top the M/C Put the lid on and you're ready to mount the M/C.

i mount the master on the vehicle and use the foot pedal to "bench" bleed it, i also run the tubes right back into the master reservoir. the key trick is to not let the master run out of fluid when bench bleeding, it will suck air and you are back at step 1

sounds like the master is your problem if u never bench bled it..lol.
i tried doing it on the truck before and it does work but i found i had better luck just putting it in a vice that way you can go til all the bubbles are out n u can see what you r doing and it is perfectly level, but on the truck works too, if u lost the plastic nozzles n tubes the parts store should carry the kit with instructions
