Just installed a softopper (Home page) on my truck (F350 LB): pretty easy to install and good sturdy product!
Took 1hr or so (with some goofing around...) with 2 people. We had a hard shell on our prior truck and we wanted something easier to take on/off when we tow our GN trailer (and store as well).
but the wife wants it off as much as possible (it ruins the lines of the truck....): we'll prob have it only only when it rains (Nov to Mar) and for long trips with the dogs

Thats my thoughts on usage as well. I pull a 24' GN regularly, so I need something easily removable. This may be just the ticket.

I think we'll take it completely when we haul to just give ourselves better clearance over the rails
a few things:
1)we have a low profile truck box and you can't open it when the top is folded down
2)it's held down with 6 clamps (4 for SB) that are fairly easy to take off/on
3)if you have dogs get the mesh screen
