Don't know if you have a console or jumpseat. I found this idea for the jumpstart on the net and used it. Still want to modify the bracket a bit to lower the radio, it's a bit awkward to reach the upfitter switches. Not sure what you can do for an antenna, mine is in a stake pocket but that won't work with a TC.
When I did use CB, this is what I had. I used a K-40 magnet mount on the roof with cable run out the from top rear of driver's door. WOW...camera picked up all the dust too....Tells how long it's been.
Mine is a General Lee mounted to the passenger side of the console down by the floor. Screwed it right into the plastic pocket and it's held for 30k miles so far on rough WI roads so it should have a problem pulling out. I mounted the antenna in the front corner of the box since I really only use it when I have the topper off and am towing a trailer. I'll try to remember to get a picture today sometime and post it. I've had real good luck with the General radios over the past 15 years and they always come through clear and loud. I run Texas Star amps and they're quality but haven't gotten around to installing it in the new truck. If you don't mind big and ugly, the Monkey Made antenna is about as good as I've found for a solid mount. Wilson brand mag mounts are also good. The antenna system is the most important part of transmitting and recieving. A good grounded system with low SWR will make or break the whole works.

I made my own stake pocket mount after reading nothing but bad reviews about most commercially available ones. I've run nothing but Firestik tunable tip antennas with good luck. I paid up also for what appeared to be a high end cable. My mount is grounded to the frame with a 12 gauge wire from the mount, SWR was under 2 everywhere before I tuned it and it think after I tuned it the worst was about 1. I'm happy.
I have my radio in the same spot as Furgeson, but my antenna is mounted up front, almost same spot as FM antennea but on drivers side. Had to make a simple L bracket, but pretty easy to install and remove when not using.
I use a mag antenna on the cab just above the rear split window. I really like the Cobra unit as it frees up a lot of space. When not being used it un screws at the dash and stows easly in the center console.
Uniden models have always worked well for me. Much better than new cheap cobras etc. Get a decent whip antenna mounted on the side of the hood. They make handy L shaped tabs for mounting in the crack between the fender and hood. I've had magnet mount ones blow off multiple times. Not fun and body damage as it swings and bangs around. Get the antenna tuned from a radio shop it makes a huge difference. Mounting up front like thus allows for the signals to have a huge plane (using the hood)

I’m with metal twister on this one! Especially when parking he truck for extended times, it’s so easy to detach the mic and hide it along with the other electronics.

Im sure its different in different parts of the country but i seldom use mine. It is only used when caravanning with my buddies camping or hunting. Seem like even then the cell phone ends up being used more.
Is there much traffic on CB's these days? I used to have one on every time I got on the freeway. There was lots of talk and much of it helpful for up to the minute traffic info. Then maybe 6-7 years ago I thought maybe my antenna broke since I was gradually hearing less and less. Got a new one and then got a new radio and still didn't hear much.
Folks in some Jeep clubs require a CB for their off-road gatherings. It's way more convenient to use rather than everyone have or share everyone's cell numbers. Everyone hears what is going on especially if there is a breakdown or emergency.... I just traveled across country and watched for 18-wheelers to see if the CB was still an important add-on to their trucks. It seems that only the independent truckers are still using them. Some RV' had them. Hot-Shot's had them. I'm still debating the issue.
