Hi guys sorry I didn't include everything
It has a 4 speed tranny, 351M engine with a mild cam and a 4bbl 600 Edelbrock carb, I have 33" tires on the truck. What I'm trying to achieve a little better gas mileage I wont b towing nothing a very little hauling stuff in the back maybe a 4wheeler at times on a trailor. I have all the power I need now with the 3.50 gears that's why I was wondering if I dropped it down to around the 3.00 gears I wont lose to much power on the highway at 65mph I'm running 2600 rpm's. I'm gonna do the rear axle first and c what happens and if I like it I can do the front axle I have donner axles with pigs in it to swap out if I done like it I can throw the other differentials back in it
Oh and btw thks for all the info and I will let yous know how it goes if I do it but winter is coming upon us now pretty quick and I wont b able to run it on the highway with the way they throw salt on it kind of bits to live in the North because of that
Shouldn't be an issue. Setting up a differential can be a bit of an art, though, so make sure you a) really know what you're doing or b) pay someone who does to do the job.
With standard size tyres and a 3.00 rear you will top out somewhere north of 100mph if you have the power to get there.
Cheers - boingk
boingk I have someone on line that will change the gears that knows what their doing tks for the reply
