October, autumn is upon us, time to rake leaves away from our languishing projects.

Afternoon Everyone!
I got the color down on the doors and front clip of the Ranger. Not my best work, but when I do $2,000 worth of body work in trade for a $600 truck, I make no excuses for quality. It still looks good, I just missed a few small dings. Not bad considering all the sheet metal was destroyed by the sand blasting.

Evening all. After replacing the radiator cap, I think I've got the truck taken care of. The temp gauge is still drifting between a hair under and a hair over normal on the road. I plugged the scanner in to monitor what temps the computer was seeing (computer uses a dedicated sensor). At idle after driving home, it was idling around 200° with a 190° thermostat in it. I'm going to monitor the coolant temp with the scanner tomorrow on my commute to see what the computer is seeing.
Back in the day of mechanical gauges, temp drift was pretty common but then the manufacturers decided that we really didn't need that much information. I shouldn't be such a nervous nelly, but I don't want to cook an engine because I thought it was fine.

Thank you to RC for showing up today and got my shop 70% wired! I even got up extra lighting.. thank you for your assistance and mostly your work RC!
On the other end, I put a transmission cooler in Bullet, and tightened up some nts under the truck...hopefully that cures a few issues. I do have the temp gauge to put in. Hopefully I will do that this week after work sometime..
Thanks again RC!

Good morning all. Fisheye eliminator worked on the silicone Camero. I'm liking having space to move around vehicles. The other vehicles will probably stay outside as another gets done. Hopefully tonight I get the cursed one painted and the Fox Body inside for finish work. Send both home this week if all goes well.

Technology can be the bane of one's existence or the greatest thing ever. The problem is that one never knows which one it's going to be. In this case, it came through for me. I plugged the scanner in, cued up the data feed from the coolant temp sensor, and headed off to work. After everything got warmed up, the engine averaged 192° with a high temp of 198° on a pretty steep climb out of a valley. I am no longer worrying about the temp until the next time I hook the trailer up. When that time comes, I'll plug the scanner back in just to keep an eye on it until I figure out where the gauge needs to be for me to get worried.
That is about the most interesting thing that happened today...

Evening All!
I got the booth emptied out, the bed removed from the Ranger and the cab in the paint booth. I also got Alice inspected and another set of 2 year tags on it. The front driveshaft is installed in Earthquake and tested on my last two crush cars on the lot. The shaft works perfect. ...now the power steering is acting up. I'll need to check in to that before too long. I hope it's just low on fluid or has a bad belt.
Dave. The remote start is awesome. ...when it works. I was always gun shy about those things. I hope it works out for you.
Jeff. You still coming after those tires? I can have them off tomorrow morning.
Rich. Hope you didn't get too wet. It was off and on all day here. As far as the Lucas oil speedway, he and I talked about doing an exhibition a couple years ago, but nothing ever came of it. I wasn't invited so far.
Chip. More room is always better.

Alan - I've heard some horror stories about them especially when they're tied in with the factory security systems. Fortunately for me, this appears just to be a lock/unlock/remote start system that doesn't have an alarm feature nor is there a factory alarm system. It is also a very professional installation that is almost unnoticeable except for a couple of extra wires under the hood that aren't factory.
Not sure if I'm going in to the office this morning. I woke up without a voice this morning...
