same here. when people start with the "we need to save the druggies who overedose with narcan"
my comment is and always will be: why? no one held them down and forced that needle into their arm. they took the poison willingly. if they die from it, oh well, one less leach on society.

I hate to admit that I feel the same way half the time.

When I had my neck fused last year the doctor that did my Intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring (IOM) met me once while I was being prepped. Not one time after surgery did I see him, not once. He left me a hefty prescription for Percocet though. Why? My pain level was 0 to 1 and I never filled the prescription.

Who is the drug pusher in this deal? Kick backs from the drug companies would be my assumption.

Drug companies and surprisingly the insurance companies. I personally have an allergy for opioid. I used to think the problem was whiney patients who demanded painkillers for everything. I guess in certain areas that can be true when the addiction has taken hold. There are entire communities of unemployed workers...not because they don't have work but because they can't pass a UA, effectively shutting companies down.

I was just reading an article the other day on the stats.91 people die from overdose daily from opioids alone, here in America.Just imagine that. What an outcry there would be if we had a "worst mass shooting in modern US history" every day against "gun violence". They would pull our rights quicker than you could blink.Of course things are a bit different there. The victims in this case didn't have a choice but death is death and many of the people hooked on these pain pills, started from legitimate use but do to greed, the doctors just keep writing them out prescriptions like they're candy. It's all money for them. What do they care. The truth of the matter is,writing out opioid scripts without legit cause is,in fact manslaughter, even if our laws don't say so.
There's more blood on the hands of doctors and drug co's than Christopher Columbus.
