2017 slightly smaller mirrors... with notched outer corner.
There is another thread with side-by-side shots of the mirrors. IMO, the 08+ version offer the best views, just at the "cost" of being bigger/squarer - but safety is what the mirror is for.
Not to hijack this thread, but does your '04 have turn signals in the mirrors? I have an '02 that I want to put the newer mirrors on, but don't have signals in the current mirrors.
Thank you.
mines an 02 limited and the mirrors didn't have turn signals but the door harness for the mirrors had the feed. Just didn't have the running light feed though...
I like my 07 mirrors. They look better on stock bodied SD`s and X`s. plus for me they offer more visibility than the newer ones. I`ve driven my bosses 14 F250 and don`t care for the view.
However with that said, If I did a front end conversion I may have to give and use the newer mirrors to match the look of the front end.

Thanks for quoting that, I missed it the first time.

I'm looking into upgrading the mirrors on my stock '00 excursion.
I'm leaning toward the "period correct" older tow mirrors just because I think the '08 mirrors could look out of place with everything else stock.
However, the main purpose of these is obviously visibility. Is there a significant visibility increase on the '08 tow mirrors or is it similar to the older tow mirrors? I'd like to eliminate blind spots. I drove a '15 f150 for a while with tow mirrors that basically eliminated blind spots.
I switched from the stock dog ears on my '00 to the '11 mirrors. I do not think that they look out of place at all. Here is a comparison for you.
Is this still the best quality option when taking into account price? For this mirror in particular, the reviewer mentioned the cap fell off on the highway after a week... so I'm just a bit weary of paying so much when I'm not so sure the quality is really there for the high price.
Will any 08 tow mirror fit with the right wire adapter? For instance this one using a separate plug adapter:
Any of them will bolt up to the truck. The cheaper mirrors you list probably won't plug into the adapter they sell for the 2000 EX. You can get around that by either hard wiring them with no plug, or making your own plug.
I'm still here ...lol Changed the name to help with branding. If you guys need help or have questions about our mirrors I can help you guys out.
Tony
Good to know!
I will admit to liking the personal touch of having your name there though too. Makes it seem a lot less corporate and more personalized service with a name like Tony @1AAuto
If you are going to do the upgrade, I recommend going with the A1 Auto mirrors - they are far better quality than the cheaper ones found on ebay. The cheaper ebay ones have distorted weird main glass. Also the A1 mirrors have auto folding function that you can easily wire up to a switch and makes it convenient to get that passenger side mirror in parking lots.
Here's a pic of mine on my 05 for how they look.
(pic edited out by me)
Yeah see those don't look out of place to my eye...although I'm sure it does help that your Ex is all giant and modded and badass looking. Anyways my question is this: do all the newer A1 Auto mirrors have the 'power fold in' ability? If so I think that completely changes my decision. I was going to get the 'standard' or old style tow mirrors to match my '04, but if these

can be hooked up to auto-fold in, that would be the perfect scenario for me. I am already tired of getting out to fold in even the stock dog ear mirrors at the car wash every time.

I think you have to find the specific mirror that offers it. If you search on 1aauto for your year, it should give you different mirrors that have different power options. Usually for the power fold you end up cutting a hole in your dash and putting the switch there. By the way I went with the new style mirrors from 1aauto and I'm glad I did. Zero blind spot and looks good to me.

Wow 1aauto has so many mirrors...had to look through quite a few like you said before I found 'power-folding'. I think this is the exact spec I am looking for, as long as this fits my '04 Ex...?
