Emergency Brake on Dana 60

Emergency Brake on Dana 60
Currently, the F-2 has a Dana 60 rear from a 1955 Ford 3/4 ton truck. The short story is that Dad bought Gertie without a rear end back around '69 or so. The original had been cabbaged for use in a stock car. After weeks of scouring local junkyards, Dad was not able to locate an original rear, and had to settle for the Dana.
Fast-forward to now, I have been looking for an original rear for several years, but have only found a few offered by members of this fine forum who live out west. One recently (abusek) offered me his, but he is in Oregon. Another member a couple years ago was in Texas. A bit far from Indiana.
The search will of course continue until one is found. In the interim though, I don't have an emergency brake. The 60 was out of a truck that had the brake on the tranny, so there isn't any way (that I am aware of) to hook up the cables without some mods. to the backing plates.
Is there a mod. that any of the folks here have done to be able install the cables to these old Danas?
