92 I6fuel pump acting up
the truck idles as smoothe as can be when on the rear tank but the minute i even lightly touch the gas it coughs spits sneezes and swears at me,oh and it bogs down too!i switch back to the front tank and it is as good as can be again even under load...so i think my fuel pump is on its way out ...
i considered the possibility that the fuel filter is plugged but the fuel from both tanks go thru the same filter so it should act up on both tanks which it doesnt
i dont know how to check if i have a plugged line
help?!
now i have been trying to run on the rear tank as much as i can to try and burn some of the gas in the tank up so when i do drop that tank it isnt as heavy and messy(splashing around)
i have noticed that if i fluctuate the gas pedal...up and down almost like you would with getting a carbuerated vehicle that hadnt run in a while started after a little while of that and also after the truck does a little bit ofwhat seems like the surging/bogging that normally happens during heavy rain it just ..takes right off like there is no problem ...,and this happens from every stop just about am i an idiot or could it possibly be whatever type of pickup tube is in there on the pump may be clogged and once the fuel gets past the blockage it is fine(i am just making this up as i go along i am not sure of anything ) this didnt start happeneing until i ran the tank real low and has happened ever since then and who knows what kind of garbage and gunk is at the bottom of the tank
