Make note of the day so when it finally fails to work again, you can post up how long it lasted.

Sorry. Had to go there since most of ours don't work anymore. And as I mentioned, mine only worked for a week.

But hey, maybe you can come back to this thread in a few years and follow up with an "it's still working!" update instead!

I'm wondering what can change enough in one week to cause it to go from "working" to "not working". It seems like an extremely short lifespan.

Thanks for the explanation 1TON. Seriously wish I'd seen one of these working in my 50 years; your description makes the ammeter seem like it gives better information than my working voltage meter

Yeah, agree. Felt like I'd been scammed! Guessing an old deteriorated wire, but the trucks really were not all that old when they started to fail. I guess they all worked when new, but would be curious as to when you original owners first saw your ammeters stop working. Like how many miles and/or years before trouble?

That. My vote is on a loose connection with my particular truck, but you never know.
