Just picked up my 2012 F250 last weekend. Drove 14 hours (7 there and 7 back) and the sales manager drove 8 hours (4 there and 4 back) to meet me. I bought it over the phone from a Ford dealership. Yes I know that was stupid, but the oasis report only had a leaking transmission seal and a track bar ball joint replacement. And the carfax only had a colision with wildlife ($1900 canadian dollars damage) when the truck had 3500 miles. The truck now only has 56k miles on it. So on to the issues. When coming to a stop, i can hear the truck squeaking and it starts just as the truck is almost at a complete stop, like maybe starts at around 5-10mph. As for the thump, that happens only when im at a stop and just start to turn as im just starting to drive. It feels like my F350 did after i put a lift kit on it with a new track bar and didnt have the ball joint torqued before i went for a test drive. But it doesn't always do the thump. I climbed under the truck and everything is tight but the large bar that connects the two steering knuckles (cant remember the actual name for it). There is some very minor play in the ball joints when i pull on that bar. I checked the track bar joint with my torque wrench and its still good. When i had my 2011 F350, i dont remember any play in that bar but that was 2 years ago when i got rid of it. Could all my issues be coming from that large steering bar that wiggles? Could it just be squeaky springs??
