285/75R18 pics and suggestions
I have the 250 XLT with the 18" chrome wheels and 275/70R18 good years. Wanting to go up to a larger tire but use my wheels. First, does anybody have pics of this setup(18" wheels with 285/75R18? Second, Im considering either the Nitto G2's or Cooper AT3's. I dont want a straight tread but I also dont want a highway roaring mudbogger. Any experience with either of these tires? Thanks in advance.

yes they are a little noisier than the factory good years but not bad, they handle good but i had to experiment with tire pressure and run 50 front and back. They are wearing even and anything higher the truck feels like it wants to wonder a slight bit. I did take about 1 mpg hit with the 6.2 and 4.30s but didn't notice any power loss to speak of.

Thanks, that is exactly what I was wanting to know and thanks for the pic.

Your truck looks fantastic. Nice to hear you felt no real power loss with the 4.30 and 6.2 with this setup. I'll either be doing this size with 3.73's or possibly a 37 if I can actually locate a truck with 4.30's within a days drive of where I live.

The Cooper and Nitto are the big two. I was in the same boat and went a hair larger with a LT295/70R18 for that reason. That opened things up a bit more and gave me the option for the slightly more aggressive Cooper Discover S/T Maxx. You sure save money with Cooper over Nitto!

The 295/70R18 should be wider and shorter than the 285/75R18. I am more after filling the fenderwell with height than width. Any pic of said tire on truck?
Other tire options in 285 are Toyo and Yokohama that I have seen but yes they are a rare bird.

Correct. I wish I had pics, but my truck was one of the lucky ones with a factory defect that have been held up. ETA was two weeks ago.
