E99 7.3- Adding a fuel filter & water separator
Is it alright/recommended to add a pre pump water separator & a post pump fuel filter? At 252k on stock injectors, hoping to get every mile out of them that I can so I figure adding filtration should be somewhat beneficial. My main concern is whether or not the factory lift pump would be adequite to pull/push the fuel through these additional filters.

Post pump, I think you'll be hard pressed to improve upon what the factory set up without complicating things. I believe, depending upon manufacturer/brand, they're rated around 8-12 microns.

Note that 252k could be nearing the end of the service life for the injectors depending on how often the oil was changed, so adding a filter now is not likely to prolong their life all that much. Is it a good idea... yes. But don't expect to go 600k on the injectors because you put a filter on after 250k+ miles.
