239 Petcock location

Ok, I'm finally back at it! Got my engine back from the re-builder guy. Bad thing is, he didn't put the petcock block drains back in. Can anyone help me with the left side of the engine. Is it hole #1 or hole #2? I looked through all my pictures and couldn't find a "before" picture. Thanks for the help, Dave

It's #1. #2 is oil gallery. Here is a picture of the engine I'm building now.

Thank you Jim! Your engine looks very nice! Do you have a build thread? I will check out your profile.

No, sorry no build thread. This is the original 292 out of my 57 Ranchero, I had already built another one that is in the car now. I don't know what I'm going to do with this one, it's just been a side project..
This the Y I built that is in the car now.

Off topic, but the question has been answered.

Jim, the West Coast Y-Block Shootout is going on Oct 14th at Barona, during the "53rd Running of the San Diego Antique Drags." That's not too far from you, if your location is correct.
Schedule - Barona Drags

Thanks Charlie, I've been trying to get there for a few years and something always gets in the way. Maybe I'll try again if only as a spectator. I'm more of a road racer then a drag racer

Either way is good!

You know, I'm not sure what kind of racing it is. If it is heads up, then that just about guarantees that street cars are out in the first couple rounds. If bracket racing, then it is a level playing field. It seems like the Y-Block Shootout would be brackets, at least.
I can't find anything that states it.
