Flathead V8 piston info

Hello folks. We just bought a 1953 F100 this weekend. The heads are off due to a blown head gasket. As we work to getting the engine back together I have a picture of the piston top and could use some help identifying them.

The don't look special but there is 040 stamped into the dome.

Does this mean the are 40 over??

I will post pics of the rest of the truck tomorrow.

That is a .040" oversize piston.

Is that a nice crack in the block I see? OK no cracks in the block are nice.

It might be! I have yet to get back up to the shop and really study this stuff. Need to clean and scotchbrite the surface. Then throw some dye penetrant around and see what we have.
