5spd. shift not smooth
I have a 1994, F-350, 7.3L diesel IDI, 5-spd. When I shift the transmission up it lugs way down. The shift isn't smooth at all. For example when I am going from 3rd to fourth I'll run it up to 35 mph, but when I let out the clutch, the engine pulls the truck down to twenty. I read somewhere that on my truck you don't have to adjust the clutch, except when its installed. The other day I went out and test drove a 1995 F-250 powerstroke 5spd manufactured in 1994. This pickup had the same problem just not nearly as bad as mine. Is it that these two clutches have the heavy duty clutch or is the heavy duty clutch supposed to act this way. When I am pulling our 18ft. gooseneck stocktrailer the problem isn't so bad. What should I do. The pickup was rebuilt about 47K miles ago, so I'm guessing they put a new clutch in it then. I just bought it last christmas.
