Help, 2.9 won't start!

Hey guys I just recentley purchased a 87 2.9 4x4 5spd, I bought it from a auction and belive they said it had been sitting for awhile, either way it has been running fine and now it won't start all of a sudden. I thought the plugs were fowled and I changed them but it still wouldn't start. After cranking it a couple of times I decided to pull a plug back out and it looked dry, shouldn't it look a little wet? I bought a hayes manual and it explains to check the fuel pump and that it is working by listening for it to turn on after turning the ignition switch to on, not hearing anything. I am lost, haven't seemed to be able to locate the fuel pump fuse(s) it also explains a way to jump something under the hood to see if it is a electrical problems but there are no pics or description of these items. Any help please!!!!

If you don't hear the fuel pump run (for about 2 seconds) after doing the diagnostic, then you probably need a new fuel pump. You probably have 'fuseable links' instead of a fuse.
You didn't say what model '87, but there is a description of your problem at this thread link https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/s...hreadid=150321 .
