I have a 30 ft ww toyhauler I pull with an 09 f350 v10, I'm tired of the small fuel tank and crappy mileage. I found a good deal on an 04 ex with a bulletproofed 6.0 but 2wd, I need the extra space but I am concerned about the suspension, can you install f350 front coils and rear leafs on the ex? or maybe f250 stuff and airbags on the rear? If I buy it I plan on a super hitch and suspension upgrade including front and rear helwig sway bars, I know the motor and trans will handle the trailer but I want the suspension to tow as well as my f350 (I towed it with a 2500hd duramax with out a problem) it already has the 08-10 front end conversion.
if its same year it should be a bolt on since front frame is a chunk off of the factory f250 superdutys and firewall and back is a special built frame but same superduty spring and axles that why most people swap the stock excursion suspension for an f250

We have a 2009 23' WW TH.
Highly recommend the front/rear Hellwig bars.
With a heavier trailer I would definitely go with a set of HD F250 rear leafs or the F350's.
I installed stock F250's which seem fine for our situation.
Our TH is around 7500lb and currently the tongue weight is 1400lb which I'm hoping to get down.
I'd hold off with the air bags until you get the springs and anti-roll bars installed and see how it goes.
Your '09 probably came with a finned aluminum diff cover, the '04 is stamped steel.
The difference between the F250 and F350 is the GVWG rating and what you pay the DMV in weight tax. Either truck can have any combo of springs on it depending on how it was spec'ed out when ordered.
do some research on what springs others have used and make sure they were able to get the correct caster dialed in when using them without new brackets or radius arms.
Here is a list from ford of the different springs the F-trucks have on them.
