tire size

hey folks, picking up a 72 highboy i just bought. Headed out next weekend for the 200 mile slow drive. 4.56 gearing I'm told.

My question is. It will be needing tires very soon. What is the biggest tire I can put on with no lift? I had heard 35x12.50. It currently has 8.5" white spokes on it.

You may be pretty close to rubbing the fenders (on the front with those) now.

33s probably. I know 35s will rub in the front. But they do fit.
