Very nice. Thank you for posting. A couple of weeks ago I was in the Mt. Rushmore area and saw a very nice Cheby pickup with a very hot sounding engine. Talked to the owner and he was heading to the hot rod show in Deadwood. Sound like fun. Anyone go to that?
I drove through Deadwood the Saturday night of that show. The catch is I had started the day in Cody, WY. (where there was a car show) and I was shot. We almost stayed in Sturgis so I could go back & check the show out, but old age won out. Just driving through Deadwood and seeing the cars, trucks and street dance was fun to see. The town was more than full of cars, trucks and people.
Hi Guys! A couple of pics from the Boca Raton Concurs De Elegance show from this past February. I was invited to the show and had the truck in a vintage commercial truck category. I even got to meet Wayne Carini who sat in the truck and really liked it. A super nice guy. I have been watching his show for years and always wanted to meet him!

OK Grant. Sorry for this . . . but I have to ask, What did you do in Deadwood that someone shot you?
...as promised, some more pics from the weekend. It's actually one car show. We started in the morning and had a nice tour together. The pics are from the stopovers.

Hey Pete, after the miles we had been putting on visiting Teddy Roosevelt National Park in ND, Glacier National Park, & Yellowstone I didn't have enough energy to deal with all the people at the car show in Deadwood. If I had, one of the car owners maybe would have shot me for drooling over their car/truck. Just driving by it was obvious there were some gems at the show.
The picture is of one of our granddaughters who went on the trip with us. This picture was taken the night before at a Buffalo Bill Cody shootout in Cody, WY.
Bittersweet pictures of times past when American iron ruled the highways.
Growing up, I disliked the ’58 Ford/Ranchero’s looks. But seeing one now, in a prime condition, a fondness develops. And who can forget the icon of American gluttony, the mid-fifties Dodge. I remember them being advertised on the Groucho Marks show.
In my mind I cannot image the youth of today looking back at the the cars they grew up with and having similar rallies. The overhead shot would be like playing “Where’s Waldo” in a sea of similarity.

Great picture. I'll bet she always remembers that trip.
