351W Headers?

I am building a 351W for a 82 F-150 2wd. I want to run headers, but I am not sure what headers to use for this application. I have been told the headers for the mustang will not work.

Does anybody have a clue what I should use?

Thanks,

Ryan

351W Headers?

I got a set of Flowtech (made by Holley) long tube headers for my 84 F 150 302 from Autozone for a hundred bucks. They'll fit the 351w with 2wd and they got 3 inch collectors with 1 and a half inch primaries. Lifetime warranty also. They'll turn white in a few thousand miles then the paint burns off and they start to rust but for a hundred bucks theyre worth it.

351W Headers?

Summit also offers thier truck shorty header with hardware for $160.
Also, my truck has 1 5/8's shorties for a Mustang on it.

351W Headers?

I used Hedman headers on my 82 F150 with a 351W (originally a 3.8). Pretty good for the price. I believe I got them from Summit. Even though they may not be in the current catalog you can still order them. Long tube headers are good for more "torque" than shorties. More torque is good in a 4000 lb. truck. Whether the difference is that big a deal in normal use is questionable though. Shorties sure are a lot easier to fit though.
