Check Engine - Powertrain Control Mod
1995 Ford F150 Bounces while driving. Actually, I should
say.. Booms like I broke the Sound barrier..
Owner's manual say's "Powertain Control Module"
Bring it in.. Cant' bring it in.. Cant afford to....
So.. It feels like what used to happen in the older
8 Cylinder Cars (The ones you could work on yourself)
when a vaccume Hose fell off.. And I noticed that
there is a Vaccume Sensor on the Powertrain Control
Module somewhere.. Anyway..
Someone who knows about this send me a note..
What are the Poor Man's options to inspect and
or fix this and what's gonna happend if I do nothing.
Best Regards
David
Replace with new hoses.
Pull the codes, and let us know which ones they are.
Ok. That could make some sense to me. Do you belive
that could effect the Powertrain Control Module or
in other words make the Check Engine light go on!
I mean what all is connected to the "Check Engine"
light anyway...
Unfortunately, I don't have my Ford Manual anywhere
near me so I'll have to wing it on What's a vaccume
Line and/or the Important lines to check the would
relate to the Check Engine and/or just anyting
that would make the Shifting kick like it does.
My Brother suggest replacing the "U" joints..
The Check Engine light comes on usually when I put
it in Gear and after a little travel.. Goes out then on.
It's like at times when the Truck Shifts so it does
make sense to me that .. Yea, it's the Powertrain Control...
But what all does that entail.. I mean I used to a linkage
up to the Carb and this about it. I did read about the
"Drive by Wire" and Ford's Powertrain Control but
really is that a comptuer chip.. I will start with those
basics of Vaccume if I can find them and if you belive
it could be related. Did it make sense that it could be
vaccume..
Best
David
