Check engine code and fuel guage help
04 F250 5.4. I drove the truck yesterday and all was fine with 3/4 tank of gas. Went out today and the fuel guage was pinned on E, low gas light was on and check engine light was on. I ran a scan and a P0463 code came up. Thought there might be a blow fuse so I looked in the book to see if there might be a fuse for the gauge but did not list one. Cane anyone help with what the problem maybe or what to check.

Here is the list of possibilities from the PCED:
The PCED also has the (rather lengthy) diagnostic procedure in it.
Fuel pump (FP) module concern
Incorrectly installed fuel gauge
Damaged instrument cluster
FLI circuit open
FLI shorted to VPWR
CASE GND circuit open
Overfilled fuel tank
Damaged fuel gauge
Damaged PCM
Incorrectly installed fuel gauge
Damaged instrument cluster
FLI circuit open
FLI shorted to VPWR
CASE GND circuit open
Overfilled fuel tank
Damaged fuel gauge
Damaged PCM

From what I have been reading it could be a bad ground, dirty connection on the sending unit/pump or a bad sening unit. About a month ago I got stuck where the truck would not start, bang on the tank figuring it was the fuel pump and it started. Haven't had a problen scince. Makes me think it could be one of these things. Any thoughts?
