My wife and I just purchased a 2010 Ford Fusion to replace her aging Mercury. This is our first vehicle with the SYNC system on it. I was messing around with the car a little bit today and discovered that the previous owner's phone information is apparently still saved in the car's memory. I need to erase all of that, and then figure out how to help her pair her phone to it. To make things that much more difficult, the owner's manual is missing. But overall it seems like a clean, well-kept car with less than 36k on it. We bought it from an independent dealer who did nothing for us except sell us a car. Can anyone help me with these items?
For reference this is what her center stack looks like: no screen
I had to do that with my 2010 Fusion. I don't recall the method off the top of my head, but post back if you aren't able figure it out and I'll try to do it my 2010 Fusion and walk you through it.
She eventually did get her phone paired up with the car, but for some reason her contacts list never downloaded. However she just got a new phone, a refurbished Galaxy Note 5, so she has to go through the whole process all over again. And from what she was telling me, the Note 5 isn't as compatible with the car as her previous phone was. But I downloaded the SYNC Start Guide, and then transferred it to her computer so she has it now. And we have since obtained an Owner's Manual for the car. That should be about everything we need, from there it's up to us to figure it out.

My old Note 4 and my current Note 8 work fine on my 2010 Fusion so I wouldn't expect anything issues. When you're pairing the phone for the first time, you'll have to grant access to your phone book and contact list so SYNC can read it.
Thanks. I'm not sure how much she's had time to mess around with it yet. She just got the phone, and she was really busy with work this past weekend. I'll let her know.
